Background and Vision for the Launch Event

about / vision

Background

The organizer, who has experience living in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, realized after returning to Japan and running a shop in Takarazuka that "there are few places in Japanese regional cities where Thais can easily gather and Thais and Japanese can interact naturally."

Together with friends met through deep connections with Thailand, especially Chiang Mai, the organizer wanted to create a place in Japan where Thais living in Japan could more naturally exist within their communities. This desire led to the creation of this festival.

The first event was held in 2023 at Kiyoshikojin Sando. As the event has continued, the number of guest participants from Chiang Mai has increased, and it has now developed into an event that values cultural ties with Chiang Mai. Today, it's an event created together by Thais living in the area, Thais who participate from Chiang Mai, Japanese people who love Thailand and visit from all over Japan, and the people of Takarazuka.

Vision

Our goal is not a one-off festival.

It's about gradually cultivating a community in Takarazuka where Thai people living in Japan can naturally exist within the local area and gather easily. And it's about sharing the best aspects of Thailand with local residents, and vice versa.

We want Thai people to become acquainted with local residents, and for local residents to feel closer to Thailand.

We aim for this festival to be a catalyst for such natural interactions to spread throughout the community.

We have received support and sponsorship from many organizations, including the Consulate-General of Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and the City of Takarazuka. We continue to welcome participation from companies and organizations that share our vision of forming a Thai community in Japan and coexisting with the local community.
